What hasn't been said about Kanye West's first completed fashion line? It has been praised and criticized a thousand times over--but what we do know is that YEEZY Season 1 is creating new silhouettes and in different tones that mainstream fashion has yet to see.
Men's fashion is steering far away from its predecessors of tight, skinny jeans and is forming new shapes in slim legs, baggy ankles and oversized tops.
The neutral palette, which so obviously derives from military inspired uniforms is moody, yet has a robust, romantic feel to it. His fabrics are luxurious, soft and comfortable to touch. The consumer, who is a multifaceted modern-day, worker bee can wear these clothes “all day,” and in any situation.
It seems as though this has been his plan all along: to create new shapes and silhouettes, as seen on him first, then developed for mass production. It is a rebuttal to the concept of trickle-down fashion- the consumer can actually shop Kanye’s closet. A new kind of uniform has sprouted, and it is entirely monochromatic, anti-gender, luxurious sportswear. And guess what? Every-one here at UNKNWN wants to wear it.
